Crafted for your Lifestyle
Growing up modestly in a small rural town in southeastern Kentucky, my family, neighbors, and the farm community took a very Do-It-Yourself approach to daily life. By the time I reached my teen years I had a good sense of being handy and decisively creative.
About 20 years ago I found myself in Portland, Oregon. I had become a Chef and had my own little restaurant.
A friend and I were at a galleria looking at living room furniture and I saw a coffee table that I really liked. It was on the rustic side with nail heads showing and the wood was distressed. It had drawers that pulled through both sides and the top was a framed piece of glass with a velvet lined drawer underneath to create your own display.
I looked to my friend and said. “I can make that.” She laughed.
I drew a rough sketch, drove to a big box store, purchased some knotty pine boards, wood glue, nails, and a piece of Plexiglas and built the table that evening armed with only a circular saw and hammer.
The rest, they say, is history.
I practice many styles in the shop from rustic to refined; Greene and Greene, Contemporary, Shaker, Post-Modern, etc. With our collaborative designs, practical joinery, and material choices, I can work within most budgets to make you exactly what you desire.
Post our initial conversation, for a modest fee, I will create a drawing, or drawings, of your piece to ensure the design is exactly what you want.
My shop is nestled on the outskirts of Knoxville, Tennessee and I offer local discounts as well as ship to anywhere in the contiguous United States.
Each piece is a work of custom design with function and aesthetic in mind. I rarely create pieces these days that aren’t commissioned but I'm excited to introduce my first official product designs, the Asian inspired VISION furniture line. Prototypes are currently being made. This is a limited hand-signed and numbered furniture line. Check out the Gallery or Shop sections of the website to see these pieces of functional art)
*I work with several local sawmills and suppliers in effort to support the community that offer a wide range of products from the common to the exotic. I rarely purchase from the big box stores.
Every piece that leaves my shop is guaranteed to last the rest of my life. Should there be a design flaw or a craftsmanship issue, (under normal use) I will either repair or replace the piece-you only pay shipping.
